Three Ways to Maintain Consistency in your Brand

As a Brand Photographer and small business owner, I’ve read my share of marketing books and blogs. If you’ve done the same, I’m sure you’ve heard the one idea mentioned over and over again: “The Know, Like and Trust Factor”.

If you’re reading the same books I am, you’ve heard over and over that it’s essential that your client gets this “Know, Life, Trust” from their interactions with your brand before they’ll click “buy now”, or book that Discovery Call, or commit at all to doing business with you.

But just how you create that “KLT” is a whole other thing.

It’s not super hard, but sometimes it can feel a little confusing…like reading the TSA’s list of “what to do next” when you get up to the x-ray machine and have to unload your pockets while everyone watches.

So I thought I’d share 3 ways your brand imagery can build that “Know, Like, Trust” factor for you (without having to be on social 24/7 or pushing your email notifications to your phone on the weekends…you’re welcome).

How to Maintain Consistency in your Brand Images

1: Develop a Brand Style Guide

Many business owners do this for their copywriting and branding in general, but taking these concepts over into your brand photos can level up your presence to your clients. Luxury Brands have consistency in their entire brand: fonts, colors and their overall aesthetic. These are all set and Luxury Brands use these items in all their marketing and everywhere the brand is represented. This tells their clients that they will do what they deliver and that they mean business when it comes to solving their customer’s pain points.

2. Create Templates and Presets

Along with having a Brand Style Guide, having a set of go-to templates for content marketing on Social Media, with your Newsletter or even on your website gives your brand a level of sophistication. Having these things in place will save you time and ensure your content aligns with your brand’s visual identity. When you pair them with number 1 listed above, it builds on that consistency (as subconscious as it may seem).

3.  Plan Content in Advance

One of the best decisions I ever made was to plan out my social media content a month in advance and automate the posts.

Why? Because coming up with something in the moment made it more likely that I would be distracted with what was going on at that time and less likely that I would carry through with posting content.

I still schedule myself a reminder to check in on my post, but I don’t live by social media on that day. Being more consistent in when and how you show up increases your “Know, Like, Trust” factor with your ideal client and makes them more likely to reach out for your solution to their problem.

These 3 tips are a game changer for your brand. Heck, these can market your business for you while you sleep (<—that’s my kind of problem solving right there 😴).
