Locations for Your Brand Photos | Manhattan, KS Photographer

Picture this:

You’ve decided to update your brand photos. Maybe you have a new look (hey there, new glasses!), or maybe your overall style has changed (out with the “light and airy”, in with the “bold and colorful”!).

Or, maybe you’re just tired of using the same stock photos you see everyone else using (how many other entrepreneurs also have a photo of random hands typing on a laptop??).

One of the first things to consider when you’re planning your branding shoot is: location. Just where the heck will your brand shoot take place? This question can quickly be overwhelming and, if you already have a full plate, it becomes one more thing in the way of updating your brand.

Lucky for you, I have some great ideas and loads of experience on where the best location for a brand shoot is in Manhattan, KS. So, if you’re pondering this topic for your next brand session, keep reading.

Location One: Your Office

Okay, yeah, I know, this one is more obvious. But it really is a great way to give clients a view into what they’ll see when they work with you. Everything from the size and space to what books are on your shelf.

This helps them feel like they know you before they even reach out to call. It helps them feel a little more familiar with you and your business, which is always a good thing.

Location Two: An Airbnb

This one is a great option if you work from home, but you don’t want to use your home. Maybe it’s too much to think about tidying up for your shoot. Or maybe the light isn’t the greatest in your office.

Airbnbs have loads of options with clean and uncluttered looks. Many of them might have an office we can shoot in, as well as other areas that portray your brand really well. If your brand is distinct (for example, if you’re a life coach for traditional women who want to be more confident in their role in the home), an Airbnb with a very traditional style might help convey those intangible concepts. Or, if hostessing is part of your brand, spending part of your session in a beautiful kitchen will do a great job of conveying that message to potential clients.

Location Three: A Local Coworking Space

Coworking spaces can be really great locations for brand shoots because they have a variety of spaces to use, from more traditional desk-like areas, to conference or meeting spaces, to couches and casual work areas. They also have unusual areas that will make great backdrops for headshots.

Bonus Location for Headshots: Outdoors in Downtown Manhattan, KS

If you have an office or you work Downtown quite a bit, there are several areas on Poyntz that make great locations for headshots outside. The walls, buildings and structures, as well as signs make Downtown along Poyntz very recognizable. Your clients will feel more familiar with you just seeing you posed in those outdoor locations.

So there you have it, several location ideas for your next branding photo session that can help communicate your values to your clients. Comment below and tell me which location was your favorite!
