While I am primarily a Brand and Product Photographer, occasionally I’ve had a Personal Brand Photo Client reach out for Family or Newborn Photos.
Since I got my start in Family and Newborn Lifestyle Photography, anytime this happens, I immediately make space on my calendar for it.
Because though I absolutely love working with other businesses, gah, I love meeting families, playing peek-a-boo with kids and just generally being silly at photo sessions.
It sort of fills that longing for play that my inner 5 year old has.
Alyssa Drummond was one such client.
Alyssa’s Personal Branding Session had happened the year before and we really clicked on so many things, from entrepreneurship to being a wife and mother.
When her sweet, little babe was born a year and ½ later, she reached out for Newborn photos. She and her husband Tom really wanted to remember this time in their lives, when their daughter was tiny and everything was so new to both of them.
This is one thing many parents who contact me for Newborn Photos say they want: to slow down and remember every part of this time in their lives; to be able to look back and see just how tiny their child used to be.
I totally get this. When parent becomes a title you take on, the concept of time takes on a whole new meaning.
Before, you’d live for the weekend.
Now, you live to be in the moment and just savor all these constantly changing situations.
We focused on a few places in their home and really emphasize the feeling of “slow”.
These times are fleeting, and having photos to look back on really is a gift to Future you, as well as your children for 5, 10, 20 years and more.
